CMEC EDUCATORS’ FORUM ON ABORIGINAL EDUCATION
Sharing Evidence and Experiences in Aboriginal Early-Childhood and K–12 Education: Programs, Policies, and Practices for Student Success
Winnipeg, Manitoba
December 1–2, 2011
CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
The Council of Ministers of Education, Canada’s (CMEC’s) Educators’ Forum on Aboriginal Education will bring together a wide range of stakeholders in Aboriginal education ― from educators and academics to government officials and Aboriginal-organization representatives ― to talk about what works for Aboriginal learners in early-childhood education (ECE) and K–12 education.
The forum will provide a unique opportunity for participants from across Canada to engage in face‐to‐face dialogue, exchange with their colleagues and peers, and build networks in the field of Aboriginal ECE and K–12 education.
Held over two days at the University of Winnipeg, on December 1 and 2, 2011, the forum will be participant-driven and structured around a series of case-study presentations on promising programs, policies, and practices.
Aboriginal-education stakeholders are invited to submit proposals for presentations. Proposals will be reviewed by CMEC, in consultation with field experts. The deadline for submitting proposals is June 20, 2011.
