Janet Rossant wins L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science award

The Toronto-based scientist and pioneering stem-cell researcher is one of five women being hailed by the program as this year’s Laureate of North America.

Rossant believes that part of her job is to mentor women and young scientists of all kinds. A pleasant matter of coincidence is that her office at the Gairdner Foundation — an organization that recognizes research that has an impact on human health — where she is president, the staff is entirely female.
