Galileo LIVE! Is a collaboratively-produced planetarium show in celebration of the U.N.-designated International Year of Astronomy. The show features a live actor playing Gelileo, describing his new discoveries with the telescope to planetarium audiences. The show was produced by four planetarium facilities in Calgary, Vancouver, Montreal and Winnipeg.

Bi-annually the world comes together to celebrate the Olympic Games. In 2008 and 2010, the London Regional Children’s Museum developed and implemented two exhibits as part of our Olympic Showcase that would help celebrate the healthy living, physical activity and the love of sport associated with the Olympic Games.

WHO AM I? is a travelling exhibition for families, helping them understand through a quest who they are and why they act so differently. Exceptionally creative and made with a small budget of 215 K, the exhibition was designed with the help of our scientific and user committees.

Geared towards children from 5 to 8 years old, the workshops of “Saturday’s at the Lab” are a real initiation to life sciences. Hosted by scientists who are communication specialists, these activities focus on the enjoyment and participation of the children. They create engaging and fun experiences right in the laboratory environment.

The Johnson GEO CENTRE Public Lecture Series is a program of free evening talks held once a month, designed to spark interest and curiosity in current and general interest science topics amongst the population of St. John’s. The series runs from October to May each year, and features local and international speakers.
“Roots & Shoots”

Roots & Shoots is a program of the Jane Goodall Institute. It is a youth-driven network with over 100,000 members in over 100 countries where members take action to better their community through programs, events, and individual action. Science North’s Roots & Shoots conference is the longest running in Canada.

The theme of Science World’s Community Science (CSC) is “Discover the Science all Around You” The CSC is a week of the community-based science and technology activities, beginning with a week of engaging school-based science programs and culminating in a community-wide family event in association with key community partners.
“Tiny Science”

Tiny Science is a hands-on science learning experience for children aged two to five. It is designed to take place in a registered child care facility, where the children are comfortable and familiar with their surroundings. Tiny Science brings Color and Light, Magnets and the Human body into the lives of children, exposing them to science at a very early age.
