The Okanagan Science Centre will continue to have a place for small kids to explore, learn and have fun thanks to a local financial institution.

RBC Wealth Management Dominion Securities donated $1,000 to the OSC to sponsor their Discovery Room.

The Discovery Room is set up to be a safe and engaging place for the youngest visitors the Science Centre, age two through Kindergarten, to explore scientific activities puzzles.

Last year, RBC’s sponsorship of the Discovery Room led to the design and creation of a new Busy Board, where children can interact with a range of objects such as wheels, locks, doors and an old-style typewriter.

“We love having a room, which is designed to be a safe spot for young children to play, explore, and discover,” said Jim Swingle, executive director of the OSC. “We designed the Discovery Room with the idea that sometimes children want to explore on their own, and sometimes children and parents want fun activities they can do together.”

The Okanagan Science Centre is a charitable, non-profit organization that has been inspiring kids and families with hands-on scientific exhibits, programs and camps for over 25 years.
