    KITCHENER — A homeless collective art gallery has found itself a temporary home at Themuseum in downtown Kitchener.

    The Art District Gallery, an artist-run, nonprofit collective, hosted its last show in its year-old gallery space at 310 King St. E. over the weekend.

    David Marskell, chief executive officer at Themuseum, said he read about the art collective's plight in The Record earlier this month and reached out to the group. Read more

    A beekeeper who had tens of thousands of dollars worth of hives stolen last month feels “humbled” by an Ottawa museum’s efforts to help her recoup her losses.

    On Saturday, the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum had a table set up to collect donations to help Debbie Hutchings after she had several hives stolen from her in July.

    Children sunk their bare feet into a sandbox, walked on a motion wave maker, did some climbing, got aboard a scoop loader, drank lemonade and ate ice cream.

    Kirsty Duncan, the federal minister of Science, talked to Sudbury MP Paul Lefebvre, Nickel Belt MP Marc Serre, and Nickel Belt MPP France Gelinas.

    Everyone, it seemed, was present for the grand opening of the new science park at Dynamic Earth on Friday, including co-winner of the 2015 Nobel Prize in physics, Arthur McDonald. Read more

    The futuristic looking Johnson Geo Centre in St. John's is becoming even more energy efficient.

    There's a good chance that most of the 50,000 visitors to the Geo Centre each year don't know that it was one of the first buildings in St. John's to use geothermal technology to heat and cool the building and save money. Read more

"As temperatures continue to warm, sea ice continues to melt. It has enormous implications for the Arctic, and for all of us.     It's a view of the city that only birds and people in planes can see — or perhaps folks flying drones outfitted with cameras.

    French muralist painters Ella and Pitr have adorned one of the buildings at Science North, the iconic science centre in Sudbury, Ont., with a rooftop mural, as part the city's Up Here arts and music festival.

    The duo's mural depicts a man constrained by the confines of the roof's edges. Read more

    A 90-million-year-old pliosaur (ply-oh-saur) fossil was unveiled today in the Earth History Gallery at the Manitoba Museum. This large marine reptile is represented by two skeletons: a display of the actual fossil and a full skeletal reconstruction. Pliosaurs were a type of plesiosaur (plee-zee-oh-saur), a group of extinct reptiles that were at the top of the food chain in the Cretaceous seas. Read more

    Skye Cafe and Bistro won’t be a run-of-the-mill place, Rebello said. As much as possible Skye will use local ingredients from farmers who are growing plants especially for the restaurant. Skye also has a herb garden located on its patio and will have sprouts growing inside the restaurant during the winter.
