MEMBER EVENT: The Cold Hard Facts About Cold Water Immersion

Dr. Gordon Giesbrecht (Dr. Popsicle) from the University of Manitoba will present to the general public on the subject of hypothermia. Dr. Giesbrecht is known internationally for his work on physiology with victims of cold water immersion.

Dr. Giesbrecht will also be presenting to Inukshuk High School students on the subject of hypothermia earlier in the day. Inukshuk High School does an on the land program during the school year using skidoos or boats. Students need to know how hypothermia can be evaluated and treated.

The CASC office is situated in Robinson Huron Treaty territory and the land on which we learn and live is the traditional territory of the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek. We strive for reconciliation by working to transform existing relationships to emphasize open dialogue, mutual understanding and respectful collaborations.
