> We’re making a GAMESHOW and NEED participants.

On September 23, 2021 CASC will host it’s national CASCADE Awards, virtually.  We’re building our program and have incorporated a few games to bring smiles, laughter and some friendly competition to the show!

We are looking for a total of 12 participants to each take part in one (1) of the following three games

Home Robot

Do you have mad skills with Siri? In this game, our hosts will give you a word and you have to find a way to get the robot to say the word (without using the word, of course!) before the others in the game.

The Sounds of Science

Maybe you’re a beatbox pro, but can you mimic other sounds with your mouth?  Our host will play a sound and you take your best shot at imitation.

Mystery Guest

Are you known for knowing about obscure people and things? Our hosts will present you with odd objects and puzzling people for you and your fellow players to identify.

The games will be pre-recorded and played during our live event on September 23, 2021.

OPEN CALL: Please submit your expression of interest before Aug 23, 2021.

> WEEK OF WONDER: Virtual Classroom Events from September 20-24, 2021

> The latest from ScienceUpFirst

The next few months are likely to see a return to schools, workplaces, and social lives in Canada. But we are also entering a fourth wave of COVID-19 driven by the Delta variant. That’s raising a lot of questions, and we believe science can help us answer them.

To prepare for September, whatever it brings, we’ve launched a new campaign called #TakeScience.

1. Join in by sharing the science lessons you’ve learned throughout the pandemic. Using Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and/or TikTok, share what it is you’ll take with you as you and/or your kids return to school. Please make sure to tag @ScienceUpFirst and include the hashtags #TakeScience and #ScienceUpFirst on all platforms, including posts to your feed and stories.

2. Come hang out with us at the upcoming #TakeScience Town Hall on Tuesday, August 31 at 5pm PST/8pm EST. This first of three Town Hall events will feature a panel of science and health experts from across the country, answering your questions about the return to school.  For more information and registration, click here.  Future events will look at how we #TakeScience when we return to work, and to holidays and family gatherings.
