PRIME MINISTER'S SCIENCE FAIR

On September 19th, 2018, CASC was invited to participate in the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Science Fair. The science fair highlighted the importance of science in the curriculum and featured 36 of Canada’s best and brightest students from across the country.

This unique opportunity was an excellent platform for CASC members to showcase the importance of informal education and science literacy across Canada. Exhibit displays from 9 of CASC Member Science Centres, Science Museums and Makerspaces were on display.

The CASC Board President, Tracy Calogheros, accompanied the Prime Minister, the Chief Science Advisor and the Minister of Science and Sport as they immersed themselves in the scientific hands-on activities put on by science communicators from across Canada. While on the Hill, the Minister of Science and Sport, Kirsty Duncan, also hosted a Roundtable with representatives from 11 CASC member organizations to discuss the impact we have on communicating science to Canadians of all ages.
